FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive Gregory Henderson Jr. was captured three days after being added to the list. Henderson, 46, is accused of leading a violent Indianapolis gang involved in drug trafficking with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel and engaging in animal fighting conspiracies.

The FBI had added Henderson to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on August 11, describing him as armed and dangerous. His capture occurred shortly after this designation.

Henderson and 20 others were federally indicted in August 2023 in the Southern District of Indiana on charges including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to launder monetary instruments, and conspiracy to engage in an animal fighting venture. A federal takedown later that month resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals, but Henderson evaded capture.

During the August 2023 operation, federal agents seized 61 firearms, quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, $98,000 in cash, and 166 fighting dogs. The FBI also uncovered what it described as a significant dog fighting and illegal gambling operation allegedly led by Henderson.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated that Henderson's apprehension is the ninth capture of a Ten Most Wanted fugitive since the current administration took office, noting that these nine fugitives had collectively spent over 50 years on the run. Patel contrasted this with four captures during the previous administration, suggesting an increase in apprehensions. "Nine Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives is more than twice as many as captured under the entirety of the prior administration — and this FBI and our partners did it in 18 months under President Trump’s brilliant leadership," Patel said.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Inspector General was among the federal partners involved in the case. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins acknowledged the collaborative effort in pursuing justice against those committing violent crimes and animal cruelty.

FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Tim O’Malley noted Henderson Jr.'s extensive criminal history, which includes street violence, intimidation, assault, and weapons offenses, in addition to drug trafficking and animal cruelty charges.
