Father of 9/11 Hero Todd Beamer Stars in Ad Against El-Sayed Ally

David Beamer, the father of Todd Beamer, a passenger who died on United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, has appeared in a new campaign advertisement criticizing streamer Hasan Piker and his association with Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed. The ad, released Monday by the Great Lakes Conservative Fund, a super PAC supporting Republican candidate Mike Rogers, features clips of Piker and El-Sayed.

The video begins with a 2019 clip of Piker stating that America "deserved 9/11." It then shows El-Sayed appearing on Piker's Twitch livestream and El-Sayed declining to disavow Piker when asked. David Beamer, who narrates the ad, introduces his son Todd Beamer as one of the passengers who fought back against the hijackers on Flight 93.

"Those 43 people on Flight 93 were not victims. They were killed in action," David Beamer states in the ad. "When I hear anyone suggest America ‘deserves 9/11’ my question is, ‘Who would say that?’"

El-Sayed has previously disavowed Piker's September 11th remark but has resisted calls to completely distance himself from the streamer, who had campaigned with El-Sayed during the Democratic primary.

Elizabeth Pipko, a former spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, commented on the situation, expressing disappointment that families affected by 9/11 still need to engage in political discourse to protect the legacies of their loved ones. "Todd Beamer’s family knows better than most the pain that anti-American sentiment and terrorism can inflict on us all. Todd’s character, and the American spirit of grit and guts he embodied, is what we should not only remember, but also look for in the leaders we elect to serve our great country," Pipko told Fox News Digital.

Theo Wold, a former assistant attorney general and deputy assistant for domestic policy in the Trump White House, suggested that Piker's past statements would continue to be a campaign issue for El-Sayed as long as the candidate does not fully denounce him. "Antifa Democrats and their friends in the media say a lot of dangerous and incendiary things," Wold said. "Hasan Piker, who endorses political violence and has denigrated the Americans killed on September 11th, has repeatedly campaigned alongside his friend El Sayed."
