A seven-year-old boy who died a week after being rescued from the sea "never failed to bring happiness" to others, his father has said. Musa Ahmed and five relatives encountered difficulties in the water in West Mersea on July 22.
Musa's 15-year-old cousin, Sameeha Rahman, and her mother, 41-year-old Shelina Rahman, drowned at the scene. Shahin Ahmed, Musa's father, described his son as "a unique and happy personality, a sphere of joy" in a tribute following his death on Tuesday evening. He added that Musa "made every person feel special and never failed to bring happiness."
Ahmed also stated that Musa "embodied" traits of the Prophet Muhammad, referencing Islamic beliefs. The family had traveled to the Essex seaside from east London when the incident occurred. Emergency services, including the Coastguard and RNLI, were involved in the rescue operation.
