The family of Dominick Bianchi, 35, is experiencing "intense pain" following his death after a days-long search in upstate New York, his father-in-law stated. Bianchi, who married his wife only months prior, was discovered in a wooded area on Sunday. He had been missing from his East Greenbush home since Tuesday morning, leaving behind his cellphone, wallet, and vehicle.

"Every family has its share of great joy and profound sadness. Four months ago, we experienced the joy of welcoming Dom into our family, and now we feel the intense pain of his loss," Joseph Zyra, Bianchi's father-in-law, told News 10 in a statement. "Dom was a husband, a son, a brother, a nephew, and a friend. He will be so missed by so many people. But even in this darkness, there is light."

Zyra extended gratitude to the community, police, and volunteers who participated in the search for Bianchi. He also encouraged individuals struggling with mental health issues to seek help, emphasizing that support is available and that they are not alone.

"There is always a reason to go on. There is always a reason to get up tomorrow morning. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of those reasons. Please know that you matter," Zyra added.

The Rensselaer County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released an official cause of death. East Greenbush Police have not immediately responded to requests for comment.

Bianchi's wife, Julianna Zyra, had made a public plea for his safe return after he disappeared on Tuesday, September 8, revealing he had been dealing with mental health challenges. Concerns were also raised about his well-being due to his Type 1 diabetes, as family members worried he may not have had his insulin with him. Police had requested that residents check their properties and surveillance cameras for any signs of Bianchi.
