Paul Moy, the father of Kayden Moy, believes his son's death could have been prevented. Cole Turley, 18, and Jay Stewart, 19, were sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 16 years for Kayden's murder. A third boy, who was 15 at the time of the offense and cannot be identified, received a 14-year detention sentence.
Moy stated that two of the convicted youths were known to social services and that South Lanarkshire Council has "serious questions to answer." He expressed that the perpetrators "have been allowed to repeatedly re-offend and it has cost my son his life."
A council spokesperson offered profound sympathies to Kayden's loved ones, acknowledging the event as tragic.
