Father Accused of Impregnating Daughter, Fathering Dead Infant Captured in Mexico

Sergio Galvez Perez, 38, accused of sexually abusing and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter, has been apprehended in Mexico alongside the teen. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Perez’s capture late Sunday, stating that Diana Galvez Ortega was safely recovered and is being treated as a victim.

Perez is alleged to be the biological father of both Ortega and her newborn son, referred to by authorities as “Baby Angelita” or “Angelito.” The infant's body was discovered on a roadside in northern Monterey County on August 1, with the umbilical cord still attached. This discovery initiated an investigation that led to an Amber Alert for Ortega.

Authorities have charged Perez with multiple felonies, including incest, lewd or lascivious acts with a child, unlawful sexual intercourse, child concealment, and child endangerment. Officials emphasized that Ortega is a victim of her father's alleged abuse and that their priority is ensuring her safety and access to support services.

Perez, reportedly a Mixtec musician known as El Aguila Real y su Ritmo Sabroso, had been the focus of the criminal investigation. The white Nissan Altima believed to be connected to the pair was located in Monterey County days after the Amber Alert was issued. The vehicle, which lacked license plates, has since been removed from the list of sought items.

Perez was reportedly found in possession of narcotics at the time of his apprehension, though authorities have not disclosed the type of drugs or how they were obtained. The capture marks a significant development in a case that garnered widespread public attention and generated hundreds of tips following the issuance of the Amber Alert.
