A fast-moving wildfire erupted in Southern California on Sunday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders as firefighters worked to contain the rapidly growing blaze.
The Bike Fire began near Golden Valley in Santa Clarita and had scorched approximately 200 acres by 2:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The Angeles National Forest reported that the fire was behaving erratically. Mandatory evacuations were issued for three zones, with evacuation warnings put in place for four additional areas.
Aircraft were mobilized to assist ground crews in battling the flames. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
