Fans Urge Jeff Bezos to Buy Dallas Cowboys During Stadium Visit

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was a guest of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the team's home opener on Sunday, a visit that prompted some fans to express a desire for Bezos to purchase the franchise. Bezos and his partner, Lauren Sanchez, attended the game between the Cowboys and the Washington Commanders.
Despite Bezos's ownership of The Washington Post newspaper, he stated his support for the Cowboys during the game. "One, I really want the Cowboys to win today," Bezos said, according to the Dallas Morning News. "Second is field energy here. It's such great energy here. There's something special about this stadium . . . about this team, and of course, something special about Jerry. It's great to be his guest."
Jones, who has faced criticism from fans, welcomed Bezos's presence. "What he is, is a part of what we all are proud of, and that's being a part of America," Jones said. "It's quite a privilege. Like I said, I pulled out all the stops to try and give us some energy to win this game today."
Following Bezos's appearance, social media saw numerous posts from Cowboys fans urging him to buy the team. "Please Jeff save us from Jerry Jones," read one tweet. Another user suggested, "Bezos should buy the Cowboys from Jones. Then hire a true GM and a real coach." A fan post stated, "Can Jerry please sell the team to jeff? Signed all cowboys fans!" Another wrote, "I hope he presents Jerry Jones with a blank check and says name your price."
Bezos has been previously linked to NFL ownership but did not bid when the Commanders were put up for sale, nor did he bid on the Seattle Seahawks when they were available. The Dallas Cowboys have an estimated valuation of $17 billion, a figure that would represent a small fraction of Bezos's net worth.
The Cowboys defeated the Commanders, improving their season record to 1-1.
