Fani Willis Reports Voter Fraud After Registration in Trump Tower

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has reported an incident of alleged voter fraud after an individual registered to vote in New York City using her name and listing Trump Tower as the address. Willis, a lifelong Democrat, stated she was notified by the New York City Board of Elections about the registration, which they suspected was fraudulent.

The fraudulent application reportedly contained several inaccuracies, including an incorrect date of birth and political party affiliation, and featured a forged signature. Willis described the incident as upsetting and believes it is part of a pattern of harassment. "I've been threatened and harassed," Willis told WSB-TV, adding that she believes a crime was committed to harass her, noting that "every time I'm threatened, my house is doxxed - all of those things are crimes."

The voter registration listed Willis's residential address as a unit in Trump Tower, with the Fulton County Courthouse designated as her mailing address. Officials confirmed that no votes were cast under the fraudulent registration, and presenting identification would have been required to vote.

This incident occurs amidst ongoing scrutiny of Willis's prosecution of former President Donald Trump and his allies on racketeering charges related to the 2020 election in Georgia. Willis was previously removed from the Trump case after her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade came to light, a decision that ultimately led to the case's dismissal against Trump and his co-defendants.

In response to investigations into Willis's conduct, the Georgia Senate established a Special Committee on Investigations. Following these events, Georgia Republicans supported legislation, signed into law in May, that shifts local elections for certain county officials, including district attorneys, to nonpartisan status, effective in 2025. This law impacts the five most populous counties in the Atlanta area. Willis and other Democratic prosecutors have voiced opposition to the law, questioning its constitutionality and alleging it favors Republican candidates in Democratic-leaning jurisdictions.
