Fan's Trash Talk Against LeBron James Backfires Spectacularly
A Clippers fan's attempt to mock LeBron James' age during a shooting contest at Intuit Dome resulted in a viral moment of missed shots and online ridicule.
During an intermission at the Clippers vs. Lakers game on Friday night, a Clippers fan's taunt aimed at LeBron James backfired in a manner that quickly gained online traction.
The fan, participating in a shooting contest at Intuit Dome, prefaced his attempt by stating, “I feel good and I’m gonna show LeBron how a 40-year-old is supposed to do it.” However, the fan's performance did not live up to his bold declaration.
Video footage captured the fan stumbling and appearing off-balance before attempting his shots. It took him four tries to make his first basket. His subsequent attempts from another position missed the mark three times in a row before the video segment concluded.
The incident was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the account @Shane00 with the caption, “Perfect representation of LeBron haters.” The post garnered significant attention, accumulating over 184,700 views and numerous comments.
Online reactions were largely critical of the fan's performance. Users on X commented with a mix of amusement and mockery. One user, @IshbakaTheDemon, humorously stated, “I mean that is how 40 year is supposed to do it🤣buddy was not wrong.” Another user, @Alagie04, echoed this sentiment, writing, “He’s right that’s how a 40 year old is supposed to do it.” Some users also drew comparisons to James' performance in the 2011 NBA Finals.
Adding to the fan's misfortune, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Clippers 125-117 in the game. Austin Reaves was noted for sparking a crucial 16-4 run in the third quarter that helped secure the Lakers' victory.
James is currently in his 24th NBA season, playing with the Philadelphia 76ers. His season averages through three games were 16.3 points, 7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.
