A confrontation between Rams and Giants fans escalated into a brawl at SoFi Stadium on Monday night, with video footage capturing one Giants supporter losing his pants during the altercation. The incident occurred near halftime of the game, which saw the Rams defeat the Giants 28-6.
The video, widely shared on social media, shows a Giants fan wearing a Phil Simms jersey being tackled down stadium stairs by a Rams fan. In the process, the Giants fan's pants were pulled down. After regaining his footing, the fan in the Simms jersey appeared to confront two Rams supporters, including one who was shirtless. The fan was then pushed away by the shirtless supporter. The Giants fan subsequently walked away from the confrontation.
The game itself was marked by key injuries for the Giants, including to quarterback Jaxson Dart, and a strong performance by Rams receiver Davante Adams, who recorded eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns. The return of defensive tackle Aaron Donald from retirement was also a significant storyline for the Rams.
Following the game, social media users commented on the fan fight, with many pointing out the perceived quickness with which the Giants fan removed his jersey as the altercation began. Some users expressed dismay at the physical confrontation occurring at a sporting event, with one noting the irony of fans fighting intensely while their team was losing significantly on the field.
