A group, including five adults and four children, left a Turkish restaurant in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, without settling a £160 bill. The incident occurred at Turkish Kitchen, where the group reportedly consumed a sharing platter, lamb ribs, beers, and other drinks.

General manager Klaus Ademi stated that the group initially appeared normal and did not over-order. However, when the bill was due, they claimed they would pay shortly. CCTV footage captured the individuals leaving the restaurant in small groups, crossing the road, and eventually entering a white van that was parked outside.

Ademi believes the staggered departure was a pre-planned attempt to avoid payment. He posted the CCTV footage on Facebook to alert other businesses and encourage the individuals to pay the outstanding bill. He indicated plans to report the incident to the police.

The restaurant has stated that the loss of £159.60 is significant for their family-run business, particularly amidst rising operational costs. Ademi emphasized that such incidents not only impact the business financially but also affect staff morale.

The restaurant is urging the individuals involved to contact them to settle the bill and has shared footage to raise awareness among local businesses, advising them to remain vigilant.
