Bethany Peaty has cut ties on social media with her brother, Olympic swimmer Adam Ramsay-Peaty, and his wife, Holly, after her pregnancy announcement was ignored. The move escalates a protracted family feud that began in late 2024.
Sources close to the family report that Bethany, 32, sent an excited WhatsApp message to Adam, 31, two weeks ago revealing she is expecting a baby girl. This attempt to share her news and potentially bond with Holly, 26, who is also expecting a girl due in January, went unanswered. Adam reportedly read the message but chose not to respond, a decision Bethany perceives as the "final straw."
This incident follows an earlier conflict in July when Holly allegedly tried to prevent Bethany from announcing her pregnancy, fearing it would detract from Holly's own announcement. Bethany, who is also expecting a girl, had hoped to connect with her sister-in-law over their shared pregnancies.
"Beth was super close with her brother, but she feels used and has had enough," a source told the Daily Mail. The Peaty family reportedly suspects Holly may have access to Adam's phone, as he would not have previously ignored his sister, especially concerning such significant news.
A History of Conflict
The Peaty-Ramsay family drama reportedly began in late 2024 over disagreements regarding invitations to Adam and Holly's engagement celebrations. Tensions intensified in November 2025 when Adam's mother, Caroline, publicly stated she felt excluded from Holly Ramsay's hen party. The feud escalated further when Caroline and other Peaty family members were uninvited from Adam and Holly's wedding in December 2025.
Despite the growing rift, Bethany remained a supporter, serving as a bridesmaid and being the only member of the Peaty family to attend the wedding. She even publicly congratulated Holly on her pregnancy announcement in June.
Adam's embrace of what sources describe as a new "celebrity lifestyle" and his integration into the Ramsay family, including changing his name to Ramsay-Peaty after marrying Holly, have been cited as factors contributing to his estrangement from his own family.
