Families have expressed their disappointment with Suffolk Pumpkin Patch, a Halloween-themed attraction in Barton Mills, UK, leading to calls for refunds. Visitors reported encountering smashed pumpkins, a dilapidated mini-golf course, and unsatisfactory entertainment.

Alex Dodman, a social media reviewer with over 450,000 followers, described the event as "The UK's most depressing pumpkin patch," stating that organizers appeared to have "chuck[ed] a load of pumpkins in a field." He further likened the experience to the "Glasgow Willy Wonka vibes," referencing a widely criticized event from 2024 that disappointed attendees.

The attraction, which promised "fields full of pumpkins and memories to last a lifetime," has faced criticism for the condition of its offerings. Ticket prices were set at £4 for children and £5 for adults, with additional costs for food and rides. Organizers defended these prices, citing their status as a "small family-run business" and alleging that visitors themselves were responsible for damaging the pumpkins.

According to visitor Chloe Dyer, "Half the pumpkins were smashed." She also noted that the pumpkins available were predominantly orange and white, contrary to website descriptions that suggested a variety of colors. Dyer also described the K-pop entertainment as "abysmal" and reported that the mini-golf course had "nails poking out where kids are playing."

Jenna Wright reported leaving the venue after 40 minutes with "three very disappointed children," calling the K-pop "Demon Hunters" lip-syncing performance a "monstrosity" and demanding a refund. Another visitor, using the Instagram handle 'mummakingmagic,' described the pumpkin patch as "basically a field with Harris fencing and a load of pumpkins tossed around." While acknowledging a "few cute photo props," the user felt that "the magic ended" there, with minimal staff presence.

The K-pop performers attempted their best, according to 'mummakingmagic,' but faced technical difficulties with music cutting out and lip-syncing issues. The mini-golf course was described as "so broken it felt like an insurance claim waiting to happen," with crushed balls in the space hopper area and long queues for face painting.

In response to the criticism, the organizers of Suffolk Pumpkin Patch issued a statement explaining that an entrance fee is necessary due to the recurring issue of "pumpkins deliberately smashed, damaged displays and unnecessary mess left behind." They drew a parallel to expecting not to damage fruit and vegetables in a supermarket, questioning why such behavior should be acceptable at their attraction. The organizers emphasized that they are not a large company and that the damage directly impacts their finances, representing money lost from their "family's pocket."
