Fallon Sherrock Defeats Luke Littler in Netflix Darts Challenge, Wins £501,000

Fallon Sherrock has achieved another significant milestone in her darts career, defeating Luke Littler in Netflix's "Beat Luke Littler" challenge and securing a prize of £501,000. Sherrock, known for being the first female player to win a match at the World Championship, needed just 14 darts to claim victory on Friday night.

Her victory was met with an emotional embrace from her son, who attended one of her events for the first time. "It's insane," Sherrock said after the win. "I can't put into words how much this means. And having my son, the first time he's ever been to anything, and he saw me win. It was lovely. Sorry, I'm lost for words. It was a great moment and I'll remember it forever. Give me an opportunity and I'll take it every time. I'm really proud of myself right now."

Littler acknowledged Sherrock's performance, stating, "That's what one person had to do. I wanted her to give me a chance, and she didn't. I've enjoyed every minute of it. It's been good."

Netflix's challenge involved over 3,000 people auditioning to face Littler, with the initial advertisements suggesting an unknown challenger. However, the lineup included several semi-professional players and past competitors at major events. Sherrock, a seven-time participant at Alexandra Palace, previously reached the last-32 of the World Championship.

Sherrock stated that she participated not for the money, but for the opportunity to promote the women's game. "I don't need the money,” she told Daily Mail Sport at the London auditions. “But I have always said I would like more opportunities to promote the women's game, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. Why wouldn't you?"

The format saw Littler face multiple opponents throughout the night. Among the challengers was 14-year-old Jayden Walker, who had previously broken some of Littler's youth records. Another contender, Pearse Mackle, came close to defeating Littler, missing a dart at the bullseye.

As Littler's performance progressed, his average dipped into the 80s, and he hit only two 180s during his matches. Sherrock, competing as challenger number 15, won the bullseye and went on to secure the victory.

Following the event, Littler expressed openness to a rematch, saying, "Let's do it again next year."
