Fallon Sherrock Claims £501,000 Victory Over Luke Littler in Netflix Darts Event

Fallon Sherrock has shared images celebrating her £501,000 victory over Luke Littler in a one-leg darts match as part of Netflix's "Beat Luke Littler" competition. The event was designed to offer amateurs a chance at substantial prize money.

Sherrock, 32, was eligible to compete because she does not hold a PDC Tour card. She previously made history in December 2019 by becoming the first female player to defeat a male opponent at the PDC World Championship. Despite facing some criticism for her inclusion, Sherrock, an MBE recipient for her contributions to darts, stated that she met the criteria for the competition.

"I’ve never had a tour card, and I wouldn’t class myself as a pro really, because all I do is just play darts for the enjoyment of it," Sherrock said following her win in Manchester. She added that while she saw negative comments, she felt she fit the requirements for the event.

More than 3,000 individuals auditioned for the chance to play Littler, with hopefuls traveling significant distances. Sherrock noted that her primary motivation was to promote the women's game, stating, "I don't need the money... But I have always said I would like more opportunities to promote the women's game, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it."

Barry Hearn, PDC president and involved in the audition process, defended Sherrock's participation. He stated, "She’s not a PDC tour card holder. She’s entitled to enter. Why should she be denied?" Hearn emphasized that the competition aimed for "excellence competing against excellence."

Sherrock secured the prize after Littler had already defeated 14 other amateurs. She hit a 180 and then won the match by hitting double 20. "It's insane, I can't put into words what it means, especially having Rory here - it's his first time at anything and he has seen me win," Sherrock said, referring to her son in the crowd. "It's a great moment and I will memorise this forever. Give me an opportunity and I will take it every time. I'm really proud of myself, I rise to the occasion."

Littler, a two-time PDC world champion, acknowledged Sherrock's performance, calling it "world class."
