F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes Near US-NATO Airbase in Germany

An F-16 fighter jet crashed on Tuesday near Spangdahlem Air Base, a U.S. and NATO installation in western Germany, prompting the pilot to eject.
The pilot sustained injuries during the ejection and is currently receiving medical treatment, according to a spokesperson for the airbase. The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation, and further details regarding the pilot's condition have not yet been released.
The aircraft, valued at an estimated $60 to $80 million, was on its final approach to the Rhineland-Palatinate airbase when the incident occurred.
This event follows the departure of 12 F-16s from Oklahoma’s 138th Fighter Wing, which left Germany for the Middle East on the same day. However, a representative from the unit stated they were unaware of any aircraft incidents involving their assigned planes.
