Ezra Frech Reacts to Fan Calls for 'Bachelor' Stint

Ezra Frech, the 21-year-old Paralympic gold medalist currently competing on "Dancing With the Stars," has become the subject of social media speculation regarding a potential role as the next "Bachelor." Frech, who has garnered a significant fan following, learned of the calls for his casting from The Post and expressed surprise.

Online chatter, including a viral Instagram video by pop culture podcaster Morgan Paige, has suggested Frech as a "fresh start" for the ABC dating franchise. Comments on the post indicate widespread support for the idea, with users calling him "perfect" and stating he would "save them for sure."

However, some, including "DWTS" castmate and "Bachelorette" alum Tyler Cameron, believe Frech may be too young for the role. Cameron suggested Frech continue to develop, noting he himself was 26 when he appeared on the show. "Maybe we put a pin in him and let him just keep being a stud and keep growing up," Cameron told The Post.

Frech stated he was unaware of the "Bachelor" buzz and found it "really, really funny." While he is preparing for the 2028 Summer Paralympics in Los Angeles, he indicated he would need time to consider any potential reality television opportunities.

"Magic Mike Live" also commented "Hired" on a shirtless workout video Frech posted on Instagram, suggesting other potential career avenues.

Frech's participation in "Dancing With the Stars" marks a new milestone for the show. He is the first contestant to use a hinge knee running blade for dancing, differentiating his performance from previous amputee contestants like Amy Purdy and Noah Galloway, who utilized different prosthetic technologies. Frech explained his choice allows for greater movement and freedom on the dance floor, despite the increased risk of falling.

He also shared details about his congenital limb differences, including the transplantation of his big toe to his left hand at a young age to serve as a thumb. His dance partner, Daniella Karagach, works closely with him to choreograph routines that accommodate his unique physical characteristics.

Frech views his role as an inspiration to children with disabilities, citing a viral video of a child watching him on TV and exclaiming, "You finally see someone on TV that looks like you." He emphasized the importance of destigmatizing disability and promoting a positive outlook, noting that "Disability is a normal part of society."

Frech, who won two gold medals at the 2024 Summer Paralympics for high jump and the 100-meter sprint, aims to bring levity to the topic of disability. He and Karagach's team on "DWTS" is aptly named "Footloose."
