A novel procedure utilizing processed donor fat is reportedly offering penis enlargement for a small number of men in the United States. The treatment, known as alloClae, involves injecting fat harvested from deceased donors beneath the skin of the penis to increase girth.

Dr. Stuart Diamond, a urologist who co-founded NDA Medical Spa near Philadelphia, is among a few practitioners offering this experimental technique. The procedure, which can cost between $8,000 and $12,000, is entirely cosmetic and aims to enhance circumference rather than length.

One patient, a 35-year-old father identified as Tom, underwent the procedure and reported satisfaction with the results. According to his account, the procedure involved multiple injections of the alloClae product, administered after local anesthetic. He described the process as less painful than getting a tattoo.

Tom's penis measured 4 inches in stretched flaccid length and 3.5 inches in girth before the procedure. Post-treatment, his stretched flaccid length increased to 4.5 inches, and his girth expanded to 5 inches. Tom stated his primary motivation was to alleviate lifelong insecurity about his penis size, despite no medical necessity or negative comments from partners.

While dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid are FDA-approved for other cosmetic uses, they are not approved for penile injections. These conventional fillers carry risks such as uneven distribution, lumpiness, migration, injury, scarring, infection, and angled erections. The alloClae procedure, being experimental, also carries potential risks, though long-term data is limited.

Studies of similar donor-fat products used elsewhere in the body suggest results may last at least six months, with some patients retaining volume for years. Dr. Diamond estimates the effects of alloClae in the penis could last for at least a year. Patients are advised to abstain from sexual activity for two weeks and apply creams to reduce infection risk.

Demand for cosmetic penis enlargement has been on the rise, with surveys indicating a significant percentage of men express concerns about their penis size, although medical professionals assert that virtually all men have penises within the normal range. The average stretched flaccid length is reported as 5.2 inches, with a girth around average for Tom's pre-procedure measurement.
