Executive Kills Wife, Daughter, Then Himself in $1.7M New Jersey Home
Authorities are investigating the deaths of an insurance executive, his wife, and their adult daughter at their Montgomery Township residence.
Authorities have identified an insurance executive as the person responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter before taking his own life in their $1.7 million home in Montgomery Township, New Jersey. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday that David Grodnick, 61, his wife Lora, 62, and their daughter Sloane, 24, were discovered with gunshot wounds.
Officials were called to the residence last Thursday to perform a welfare check after failing to make contact with the family. Law enforcement entered the property on Friday and found the two women deceased in separate bedrooms. David Grodnick was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, which authorities have ruled as the cause of death, classifying the manner of death as suicide.
The deaths of Lora and Sloane Grodnick have been ruled as homicides. The prosecutor's office stated that the investigation indicates the killings were an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Further information is not available at this time.
According to Montgomery News, David Grodnick was a senior vice president for Land Services USA, an insurance agency. He held a degree in business administration from the University of Miami and a BA in English from McDaniel College. Sloane Grodnick was a graduate of The Hun School, a private boarding school in Princeton, and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The family had relocated from Princeton to Montgomery Township and were members of the Bedens Brook Country Club in Skillman.
