Ex-Wife Sues Lawyers, Accountants for Allegedly Botching $150M Divorce Case

A New York woman is suing her former divorce attorneys and forensic accountants for more than $5.5 million, alleging they mishandled her high-stakes divorce from celebrity makeup brand co-founder Yosi Cohen and failed to uncover $15 million he allegedly hid.

Adi Cohen, 56, claims that her legal and forensic teams dropped the ball during her divorce proceedings from Yosi Cohen, 63, the director and co-founder of the popular makeup brand Natasha Denona. The divorce was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court in 2019 and is ongoing.

The Natasha Denona brand, founded in 2016, has gained popularity among celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Dua Lipa, and Oprah Winfrey. Its namesake makeup artist, Natasha Denona, has worked with numerous A-list clients.

In a lawsuit filed on October 25, Adi Cohen accused her former divorce attorney, Daniel H. Stock, and the forensic accounting firm KLG Business Valuators and Forensic Accountants of mishandling her case. She alleges they undermined her efforts to discover $15 million in real estate deals and secret bank accounts that her husband purportedly concealed.

According to the lawsuit, Yosi Cohen allegedly transferred funds to a "post-commencement real estate entity" while falsely stating these acquisitions occurred after the divorce proceedings began. The complaint also states that he allegedly routed money through various companies, including Natasha Denona, which reportedly contributed $2 million to a real estate investment on his behalf.

Adi Cohen asserts that Stock and KLG missed critical deadlines, overbilled her, and ultimately jeopardized her ability to recover assets that Yosi allegedly concealed from the marital estate. The complaint states that she was "deprived of the means to develop the facts concerning the array of marital assets in this high-stakes divorce."

Stock, who specializes in divorces involving high-net-worth individuals, and KLG were hired to trace the allegedly hidden assets. However, Adi Cohen claims they failed to produce results. She alleges that Stock left several subpoenas containing crucial evidence of her husband's alleged financial misconduct unopened and missed a deadline in October 2023 to extend the financial discovery period.

Due to these alleged failures, Adi Cohen claims she has lost the opportunity to pursue the money her husband purportedly tried to hide. The lawsuit further states that Stock and KLG "engaged in self-dealing by billing [Adi] hundreds of thousands of dollars within five months, without producing any discernible results, or beneficial results for [her]."

Attorneys for Yosi Cohen, Stock, KLG, and Natasha Denona did not respond to requests for comment. Adi Cohen’s lawyer declined to comment on the ongoing divorce case.
