Kelly Davis, the ex-wife of former NFL player Thomas Davis, has reached a resolution in her criminal case stemming from an alleged assault. On Monday, she entered into a pre-trial diversion program, a move that will lead to the dismissal of her charges if she adheres to the program's conditions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Davis is required to complete a Cognitive Behavioral Intervention course, maintain no contact with the alleged victim, and pay $1,380 in restitution. Her attorney, James J. Exum, stated that the resolution is fair, noting that Davis has no prior criminal history.

The charges against Kelly Davis were filed in August 2025 after she was accused of assaulting Laura Watterson, a chiropractor. Watterson alleged in a criminal affidavit that Davis confronted her at her Charlotte office, accusing her of having an affair with Thomas Davis. Watterson claims she was punched and hit multiple times in the head during the altercation.

Kelly Davis maintained she acted in self-defense during the incident. Her marriage to Thomas Davis, a former linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers who played 15 seasons in the NFL, began in March 2008. The couple separated in March 2024, with Kelly Davis alleging infidelity. Their divorce was finalized in December 2025, shortly before the alleged assault occurred.

Thomas and Kelly Davis are parents to Thomas Davis Jr., a linebacker for Notre Dame. Thomas Davis himself is a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
