A former West Point cadet has been sued for assault and battery after admitting to secretly administering abortion medication to his pregnant girlfriend without her knowledge or consent, causing her to miscarry.

The woman, identified as "Jane Doe" in court documents, filed the lawsuit in New York Supreme Court on Oct. 28, seeking damages from Caleb T. Suh. Doe and Suh were cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point when Doe discovered she was pregnant in January 2022.

According to the lawsuit, Suh repeatedly pressured Doe to have an abortion, despite her stated intention to keep the baby. Although he later appeared to support her decision, Suh allegedly created an online pharmacy account in her name and obtained abortion medication without her awareness. On Feb. 4, 2022, Suh brought Doe a drink he claimed was a pregnancy protein shake, which made her sick and lose consciousness.

Suh later admitted in federal court that he administered the medication. Doe became seriously ill and was hospitalized, where doctors confirmed she had suffered a miscarriage. She reported the incident to the Army Criminal Investigation Division in May 2022.

In June 2026, Suh was charged in federal court and subsequently pleaded guilty on June 30 to assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a dating partner. He admitted to using Xanax to sedate Doe before administering the abortion pills, deceiving her into believing he supported the pregnancy. Suh acknowledged that the miscarriage occurred as a result of the medication he administered without her consent.

After leaving West Point, Suh transferred to Cornell University, graduating in May 2026, and then enrolled in a master's program at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. Cornell stated that Suh had indicated he had not been responsible for any disciplinary violations at a previous institution when he applied.

Doe is seeking compensatory and punitive damages. Her attorney, Russell Kornblith, stated, "Our complaint sets out that our client was forced to endure an unimaginable trauma and was robbed of a pregnancy she wanted, while Mr. Suh has since managed to attend not one, but two ivy league schools. We are outraged on her behalf and plan to aggressively pursue justice."
