Shocking bodycam footage has captured the moment a belligerent motorist attempted to fight a police officer in Florida, only to discover he was confronting former UFC star Marlon Moraes.
The incident occurred on March 27 when Coral Springs police officer Moraes pulled over a driver who then became hostile. The motorist verbally confronted Moraes, stating, "What are you gonna do? You can't do s***."
Moraes, appearing unfazed, responded, "I can't!" before the driver stepped towards him. The former MMA fighter then swiftly performed a hip toss, bringing the man to the ground, where he was subsequently pinned with the assistance of other officers.
"Do not step against me. You want to go? You're going to go," Moraes was heard saying in the footage.
Moraes retired from the UFC in 2023 and transitioned to a career in law enforcement. He joined the Davie Police Department in Florida in June 2024 before moving to the Coral Springs Police Department.
The bodycam footage of the incident surfaced on social media over the weekend. The same day the footage went viral, Moraes celebrated a successful return to combat sports after a three-year hiatus, winning his debut for the Brazil-based promotion Liga Monstro Combat in Sao Paulo.
