Ex-'South Park' Writer Vows Billboard Campaign Over Cornell Rape Allegations

A former writer for the animated series "South Park" has announced intentions to use billboards to identify individuals accused in a widely publicized gang-rape case at Cornell University, escalating his campaign for accountability. Toby Morton, who refers to himself as a "Cornell 7" vigilante, also addressed critics online, dismissing their concerns about his methods.

Morton recently launched a website dedicated to exposing the fraternity brothers accused in the alleged October 2024 incident. He stated his commitment to continuing this work, sharing screenshots of messages from individuals criticizing his approach. One message suggested he "hold off since [the] DA reopened the case [and] wait for evidence."

Responding to this sentiment, Morton wrote, "As for ‘waiting for evidence,’ that’s adorable. I’ll continue doing the work, verifying what I publish, and taking all the time necessary to get it right." He further countered a critic who questioned his ability to discern the truth of the accuser's claims by stating, "I’m verifying documents, photographs, timelines and records. You’re typing ‘but what if lady lie?’ into a website contact form."

The controversy centers on allegations that multiple Cornell students at a fraternity house drugged and gang-raped a student. The accuser filed a civil lawsuit earlier this month detailing these claims. The local district attorney announced over the weekend that the probe into the allegations would be reopened, citing the lawsuit and what may be additional evidence.

Morton, who wrote for "South Park" in the early 2000s, has stated that "billboards are being planned" as part of his campaign. He also indicated that an updated version of his website would be released soon.

As of the latest reports, none of the seven men identified in connection with the allegations have been formally charged. The Chi Phi fraternity house at Cornell University has been central to the investigation.
