Ex-NFL Star Stedman Bailey Charged in Florida Mall Sex Incident

Former NFL player Stedman Bailey has been charged with a first-degree misdemeanor of exposure of sexual organs following an alleged incident of public sex at a South Florida mall arcade. The charge stems from an incident on July 27 at the Round1 arcade in Broward County, Florida, where surveillance video reportedly shows Bailey and Karina Manderson engaged in sexual activity around 12:30 a.m. while other patrons were present.

Bailey, 35, has officially been charged by police, according to reports. Prosecutors allege that Bailey "pulled down his clothing to engage and/or was actively engaging in contact of a sexual nature" in public. If convicted, Bailey could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Bailey reportedly admits to having his pants down but denies engaging in sex with Manderson. According to the arrest affidavit, a witness claimed to see the two having intercourse and asked them to stop, after which they left the bar area. Both Bailey and Manderson attributed the incident to alcohol consumption, stating they had been drinking shots at the bar. Manderson reportedly had no recollection of the event.

Bailey and Manderson were released from Broward County Jail after posting bail. Bailey, a native of Miramar, Florida, played three seasons with the St. Louis Rams from 2013 to 2015. He was selected by the Rams as the 92nd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft after a college career at West Virginia University.

This incident occurs a decade after Bailey survived being shot multiple times, including twice in the head, in Miami Gardens. The severe injuries he sustained ended his NFL career. During his time in the league, Bailey recorded 59 receptions for 843 yards and two touchdowns, with additional scores as a runner and punt returner.
