Former NFL player Taylor Lewan has publicly voiced his disappointment after not receiving an invitation to Travis Kelce's recent wedding.
Lewan, who co-hosts the "Bussin' With the Boys" podcast with Will Compton, expressed his feelings on a recent episode, stating that the lack of an invitation felt like a "personal shot." He noted that he and Compton have known Kelce for over a decade and maintain regular contact.
"I'm not taking away from how amazing this wedding probably was," Lewan said on the podcast, "but I'm seeing so many people there, and I'm just thinking, dude, I'm clearly doing something wrong in our friendship, clearly something wrong."
Lewan shared that after initially feeling indifferent about not attending the "intimate" wedding, his perspective changed upon seeing the guest list, which included numerous individuals he didn't recognize, such as soccer player Alex Morgan and comedian Bowen Yang. He questioned Kelce's priorities, humorously asking if he wasn't among Kelce's "top 9,500" friends.
He also revealed that he had drafted a text to Kelce seeking to understand the thought process behind the guest selections but ultimately decided not to send it. The message, which was later deleted, expressed happiness for the newlyweds while inquiring about the guest list decisions. Lewan ultimately conceded he might not have attended even if invited.
Compton had previously spoken out about his own surprise at not being invited to the New York City nuptials. Chase Daniel, a former teammate of Kelce's, also initially tweeted about not receiving an invitation but later clarified that his comment was sarcastic and extended congratulations to the couple.
