Former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was released from Hillsborough County Jail on Tuesday afternoon after posting a $1 million bond, according to court records. Judge Christopher Sabella granted Arnold's request for release pending trial on multiple felony charges, including alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.

Arnold is now confined to his home in Tallahassee, Florida, with exceptions for court appearances and legal appointments. He is prohibited from contacting six co-defendants or witnesses in the case and must surrender his passport within 48 hours. The state’s attorney’s office has filed a motion seeking a GPS monitor for Arnold.

Arnold's attorneys had previously argued that he would be unable to wear a GPS device while playing football, but the new release conditions alter his situation. Previously, he would have been permitted to leave his home for football-related activities, including playing, training, and traveling with the Lions.

The 23-year-old athlete had been in custody since turning himself in the previous Wednesday. He is accused of orchestrating the abduction and robbery of three men he believed had stolen money and luxury items from him. A spokesperson for the state attorney’s office stated their commitment to seeking justice for the three victims who were allegedly beaten, robbed, and held against their will.

The Detroit Lions announced Arnold's release on Monday, releasing a brief statement acknowledging awareness of the situation and deferring comment out of respect for the legal process. The team's decision ended speculation about whether Arnold would be permitted to attend Lions training camp in late July due to the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Arnold, a first-round draft pick in 2024, played two seasons with the Lions, starting 22 games. In 2025, he recorded 31 tackles and an interception before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery.
