Former Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho has listed his San Pedro home for $1,899,000, months after his resignation and following an FBI investigation. The property, described as a "masterfully reimagined 1920s Craftsman," is presented as a "private coastal sanctuary" with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.

The home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms across approximately 2,000 square feet, situated on a 5,628-square-foot lot. The listing details premium materials and designer finishes throughout the remodeled interior.

Carvalho's departure from the LAUSD came after a period of scrutiny, including FBI search warrants executed at his property, office, and a Miami home. Although he resigned in June, the confidential letter that preceded his ouster indicated the school board had potential grounds for his termination.

During his time in San Pedro, Carvalho was observed living a private life, including being seen with his wife, Maria, at a local supermarket. When questioned about the investigation, Carvalho stated, "We’re talking to our attorney at this point."

A neighbor recounted an unusual incident where Carvalho climbed over a fence to access his backyard with garden trimmers, an event described as "bizarre." The neighbor stated he assisted Carvalho in trimming a bush that held sentimental value to him.

It remains unclear if Carvalho intends to leave the Los Angeles area permanently. Andrés Chait has since replaced him as superintendent of the LAUSD.
