Ex-JPMorgan Banker's 'Sex Slave' Lawsuit Hits Another Roadblock

Chirayu Rana, a former JPMorgan banker, has lost his legal representation for the third time as his lawsuit against the bank and executive Lorna Hajdini continues. Jon Norinsberg, Rana's latest attorney, filed a motion to withdraw from the case, according to sources. This marks the latest development in a tumultuous legal dispute that began in the spring when Rana accused Hajdini of sexual assault and misconduct.

Hajdini has vehemently denied all allegations. The departure of Norinsberg leaves Rana's case in disarray and follows the withdrawal of his previous two legal teams. Rana's second attorney, Daniel Kaiser, quit in May. Insiders suggest that Rana previously attempted to secure a settlement exceeding $20 million to end the litigation.

JPMorgan has reiterated its support for Hajdini. "As we’ve said from the onset, we fully support Lorna, and do not believe the allegations against her or the firm have any merit," a spokesperson for the bank stated following the most recent legal change.

The legal filings have seen adjustments to Rana's claims. The updated complaint, submitted before Norinsberg's withdrawal, modifies or removes several assertions concerning Rana's compensation, career trajectory, and personal life. The claim that Rana was a top private credit dealmaker earning over $2 million annually has been revised, and the term "potential" has been added before his stated $2.5 million pay package at his new firm, Bregal Sagemount.

On a personal level, the revised filing removes details about Rana's bereavement leave and alters the description of his mother's health from "seriously ill" to "seriously injured." A statement alleging he lived with a girlfriend he intended to marry has also been deleted.

The Post has attempted to reach Rana for comment.
