Lindsay Clancy was prescribed at least six different psychiatric medications, including Zoloft, Ativan, Lorazepam, Zolpidem, Diazepam, and Trazodone, in the period leading up to the deaths of her three children, according to testimony from her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy.

Patrick Clancy stated that his wife had been prescribed these medications by several doctors for issues including depression, anxiety, and insomnia. He testified that Lindsay Clancy expressed anxiety about returning to work after her maternity leave expired, which he described as a root of her concerns.

During the trial, Assistant Plymouth County District Attorney Jennifer Sprague presented a bag of prescription pills believed to have belonged to Lindsay Clancy as evidence. When questioned about his wife's medication consumption, Patrick Clancy indicated he did not track the exact number of pills taken from each bottle, and acknowledged it was possible that not all prescribed medications were taken.

Despite the family employing a nanny to assist with childcare and household tasks for approximately 12 hours per week, Patrick Clancy testified that his wife's condition continued to deteriorate during that period.
