A Utah judge has denied a temporary restraining order filed by Taylor Frankie Paul's ex-husband, Tate, against the star of "The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives." The order was denied the day after it was filed in a Utah court, with the judge ruling it was based on "hearsay."

Tate, who shares two children, Indy, eight, and six-year-old Ocean, with Paul, had also filed a petition to modify their divorce and custody agreements. He was married to Paul from 2016 to 2022.

Legal Battles and Rehabilitation

The denial of Tate's restraining order comes as reports indicate Paul, 32, voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility. A source told People that her stay, which has concluded, was at the recommendation of her doctor. "She's committed to getting better," the source added, noting that those around Paul want her to receive help and "everyone is just trying to protect the kids."

Paul is also mother to two-year-old son Ever, whose father is Dakota Mortensen. In April, Paul and Mortensen were granted mutual protective orders against each other for three years. Both parties alleged violence in a series of altercations in February, leading Commissioner Russell Minas to rule that they could not be in the same place together for extended periods before conflict arose.

Commissioner Minas described their dynamic as "toxic" and "dysfunctional," urging the former couple to prioritize their son while acknowledging they would remain linked as co-parents. He emphasized the importance of their ability to "function as co-parents" and how their conflict resolution could affect Ever as he grows up. The ruling stipulated that for Ever's best interest, his parents should not be in the same place at the same time.

Taylor's attorney, Eric M. Swinyard, stated that the court's decision was a "significant step forward." He indicated that Paul was "incredibly candid with the Court that she is not perfect and owned her faults," contrasting this with the opposing party's argument. Swinyard added that Paul feels solidarity with other survivors and is grateful for ongoing support, looking forward to continued cooperation with the court.

Previously, police declined to press charges regarding domestic violence allegations. The Draper Police Department and West Jordan Police Department submitted reports and evidence to the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office, which ultimately decided not to file charges against Paul.

Tate - the dad of Taylor’s kids Indy, eight, and six-year-old Ocean - filed the motion in a Utah court on Tuesday but the next day a judge said no

News of Tate's move comes amid reports that Taylor voluntarily entered rehab to seek help amid the other legal battle she's in the midst of with ex Dakota Mortensen
