Natalie Greene, a former aide to Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who is accused of staging a politically motivated hate crime hoax, is reportedly dating a man with a history of convictions across multiple states. Sources familiar with the relationship identified him as Dylan Wayne Goetz, 34, who is currently on an ankle monitor.

Greene faces federal charges for allegedly orchestrating an attack in July 2025 where she claimed "Trump whore" was carved onto her body. She asserted the assault was politically motivated due to her employment with Van Drew, who switched from Democrat to Republican in 2020. Greene was charged with conspiracy to falsely report a violent attack and giving false statements to law enforcement after reporting she was slashed by masked gunmen in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

Goetz, originally from Washington state, has accumulated arrests and convictions dating back to 2010. His record includes charges for possession of fentanyl, burglary, grand theft, and money laundering, according to court records. He served a two-year prison sentence in Oregon from 2018 to 2020. In July 2022, Goetz was arrested on burglary and grand theft charges for allegedly breaking into a Florida home and stealing a safe containing over $10,000 in cash and valuables, including a Rolex. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges and has been released to a drug abuse treatment center in Oakland Park, wearing an ankle monitor since August 2025.

Greene was granted supervised release in January and is reportedly living in Florida. She previously resided with a childhood campmate, Kristin Haughton James, who later asked her to leave in March, claiming Greene caused significant damage and falsely accused her of drug dealing and threatening her with a gun. Before staying with Haughton James, Greene had reportedly cycled through other guardians, including her mother, and had been ordered to attend inpatient treatment. Sources claim Greene now resides in an apartment in Pompano Beach.
