Holly Swinburn, the ex-girlfriend of reality TV personality Freddy Brazier, has claimed that the bulldog that attacked Brazier was mistreated. The dog, named Pablo, is currently in police custody and Brazier has been given until Tuesday to find a suitable home for the animal, or it will be euthanized.
Swinburn, who shares a daughter with Brazier, made an emotional plea on social media for someone to take Pablo in. She stated that the dog had been mistreated and attacked Brazier to protect himself, adding that this behavior was out of character for the animal. Swinburn did not specify who she alleged had mistreated the dog.
Pablo, a pocket bully breed, bit Brazier on the arm last week, causing a significant injury that required hospital treatment. Brazier, 21, the son of the late Jade Goody and Jeff Brazier, was reportedly attacked when he went to collect the dog from his grandmother Jackiey Budden's home. He described the incident as terrifying, noting he couldn't feel his arm and discovered a 3cm hole after opening his tracksuit.
Previous Incidents
This was not the first incident involving Pablo. Days before Brazier was injured, the dog reportedly attacked Jackiey Budden. Neighbors called emergency services on July 16 after hearing screams as the dog gripped Budden, who required medical treatment. Police and the fire brigade attended the scene, and it was initially decided not to pursue criminal charges. However, four days later, Pablo attacked again, injuring both Brazier and Budden. Budden was reportedly injured while trying to pull Pablo off Brazier.
Brazier has expressed his devastation over the situation, stating he does not want to lose Pablo, whom he considers like a son. He indicated that his grandmother's home and his father's home are not options for the dog, and he is unlikely to see him again while Pablo is in police kennels.
Brazier himself spent eight hours in the hospital receiving stitches for his injuries. He reportedly discharged himself from A&E initially due to long waiting times but was later forced to return for significant treatment. His representatives have been contacted for comment.
