Former ESPN broadcaster Mark Jones recently took to social media to voice his strong opinions on the 2026 midterm election results, specifically focusing on Florida's continued Republican leadership. Jones, who has since moved his commentary to the platform Bluesky after departing X due to its "hateful" environment, expressed frustration that Florida did not shift towards the Democratic party.

Jones posted on Bluesky, "Only in Florida will voters drive through flooded streets because the governor vetoed flood remediation projects to build a now defunct concentration camp in the Everglades and vote the same party in power." He also criticized the state's electoral choices by adding, "Only in Florida can people steal $10m from sick children and still get voted into power."

In addition to his commentary on Florida, Jones also shared posts celebrating the electoral defeat of former NBC Sports reporter Michele Tafoya in her Minnesota Senate race.

The commentary from Jones has drawn criticism, with one outlet describing his past remarks and actions as problematic, including alleged false claims about law enforcement, controversial statements about public figures like Rush Limbaugh and Stephen A. Smith, and sharing posts that touched on racial themes and conspiracy theories. The outlet also suggested that Jones's online behavior may be an attempt to overcompensate for backlash he has faced regarding his personal life.

Jones previously worked for ESPN before his exit from the network. His transition to Bluesky has allowed him to continue sharing his political and social commentary, often sparking debate among his followers.
