Ex-College Quarterback Phil Jurkovec Arrested for Alleged Truck Theft
The former standout player is accused of stealing a vehicle from a hospital valet garage in Pennsylvania.
Former college football quarterback Phil Jurkovec was arrested on Sept. 18 after allegedly stealing a truck from a hospital in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Jurkovec, 26, is accused of entering the cab of a box truck in the valet garage at AHN Wexford Hospital while a man was loading items into it, and then driving away.
Authorities stopped Jurkovec while he was driving the stolen vehicle on Pennsylvania roadways. He was taken into custody and charged with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Court records indicate that Jurkovec has remained in jail since his arrest because he has been unable to post bail. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on September 30.
Jurkovec played college football for three different programs. He began his career at Notre Dame in 2018, transferred to Boston College in 2020, and then transferred again to Pittsburgh in 2022, where he concluded his collegiate tenure. Over his college career, Jurkovec appeared in 39 games, passing for 6,224 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
His attorney, Michael J. Pawk, declined to comment when reached by The Post.
