Actor Ewan McGregor found himself the subject of lighthearted teasing regarding his family size during a recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Guest host Anthony Anderson questioned McGregor, 55, about having five children, humorously asking if he was Mormon.
"No," McGregor replied, prompting laughter from his "End of Oak Street" co-star Anne Hathaway. Anderson then quipped to the audience, "He was like, 'No, I just like to f–k a lot.'"
McGregor has four children with his ex-wife Eve Mavrakis: Clara, 30, Jamyan, 25, Esther, 24, and Anouk, 15. He also has a son, Laurie, 5, with his current wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead. McGregor and Winstead welcomed their son in June 2021 and married in April 2022.
McGregor separated from Mavrakis in May 2017, the same month he was photographed with Winstead. He and Mavrakis, who were married for 22 years, finalized their divorce in 2020.
McGregor's eldest daughter, Clara, has previously spoken about the family's transition. In a 2019 Instagram comment, she referred to Winstead as a "piece of trash," a statement she later reflected on, telling The Times in 2018 that while it wasn't her "finest moment," it stemmed from a difficult adjustment to a shift in the family unit. She acknowledged it was a challenging situation to process when one's idea of a family structure changes significantly.
