Actress Eva Longoria was recently observed enjoying a day at the beach in Marbella, Spain, showcasing her fitness in an animal print bikini. The 51-year-old actress, known for her role in "Desperate Housewives," has been splitting her time between Spain and Mexico.
Longoria, who relocated from the United States in 2024, cited concerns about the country's direction following the presidential election. "I get to escape and go somewhere," she told Marie Claire, contrasting her privilege with the situation of most Americans. "Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them."
She previously expressed that her chapter in California felt complete, mentioning issues such as homelessness and taxes as contributing factors to her decision to leave. "Whether it's the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s**t on California - it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now," she stated.
Longoria emphasized that her approach to wellness is a lifestyle, not a trend. She shared with PopSugar in 2023 that consistent movement is crucial for her, prioritizing fitness for mental clarity. Her routine includes cardio, yoga, and strength training, and she uses a trampoline for intense workouts. Longoria highlighted the importance of core and leg strength for mobility as one ages.
She also adheres to a disciplined diet, stating, "I sleep well because I eat well. All my meals are planned. I'm very dedicated to paying attention to what goes into my body." However, she noted to Today in 2024 that she maintains a flexible approach to her diet without strict restrictions.
"I've always been an exerciser," Longoria told People. "It gives me energy. I don't really do it for vain reasons, I do it for my mental health." Her dedication to fitness is further underscored by her degree in kinesiology.
Despite her residence abroad, Longoria expressed missing aspects of her life in the U.S., particularly her family in Texas and authentic Mexican cuisine. "I miss my family, my Texas family...," she shared with People in April, adding, "good Mexican food. That's what I miss. That's what's not in Europe, is good Mexican food."
Longoria and her husband, Jose Baston, are parents to an eight-year-old son, Santiago. The family recently spent time in Los Angeles while Longoria directed the film "The Fifth Wheel," which features Kim Kardashian. Her son, who had been homeschooled, was enrolled in a Los Angeles school, where he has reportedly enjoyed having classmates and friends.
