Families seeking sunshine during the October half-term break can find numerous European beach destinations still experiencing warm weather, with temperatures in some locations exceeding 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 degrees Fahrenheit).

While the United Kingdom experiences cooler autumn temperatures, parts of Europe continue to offer pleasant conditions for beach holidays. Analysis by airport transfer experts at Hoppa indicates that several popular European beaches maintain average temperatures above 20C (68F) in October.

Cyprus features prominently on the list, with Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa ranking as the warmest. This beach boasts average October temperatures of 23.4C. The 500-meter stretch of white sand overlooks clear turquoise waters. Nearby, Coral Bay, another Cypriot beach located in the Paphos area, offers average temperatures of 21.8C and is a Blue Flag certified beach with a selection of amenities.

Greece is also represented with two locations on the island of Rhodes. Faliraki Beach, spanning approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) of golden sand, averages 21.8C in October. Jointly ranking third is St. Paul's Bay, a sheltered cove near Lindos on the island's east coast, which also experiences average temperatures of 21.8C. Further south, Myrtos Beach in Kefalonia, known for its smooth white pebbles and stunning scenery, rounds off the top ten with an average October temperature of 20.1C.

The Canary Islands, a popular destination for consistent warmth, also feature multiple beaches. Playa del Inglés in Gran Canaria, a highly visited beach known for its watersports and sunbeds, averages 21.2C in October. Tenerife offers Playa del Duque on its southwestern coast, a Blue Flag beach with clear water and a lively promenade, averaging 20.7C. Its neighbor, Playa de las Américas, also on the southern side of Tenerife, shares the same average temperature of 20.7C and is described as a family-friendly location.

Ibiza's Bossa Beach, the island's longest beach, is listed with an average October temperature of 20.6C. On Italy's island of Sicily, Spiaggia di Isola Bella offers average temperatures of 20.2C in October. This pebbled and shale beach is also a nature reserve, and a nearby tidal islet is accessible for a small fee.
