Eugenie Bouchard Celebrates Halloween Early with Iconic Britney Spears Costume

Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard embraced the Halloween spirit ahead of schedule, unveiling her Britney Spears-inspired costume on social media. The tennis pundit shared photos of her ensemble on Thursday evening, which paid homage to Spears' memorable 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance.

Bouchard, who has transitioned to broadcasting with roles for the BBC and ESPN following her retirement from professional tennis, opted to replicate Spears' iconic "I'm a Slave 4 U" performance. Spears' original act featured the pop star performing with a live albino python and a tiger. For her rendition, Bouchard used a plastic snake.

Spears' 2001 performance, which took place in September of that year, drew criticism from animal rights group PETA. Spears later commented on the performance, admitting to a phobia of snakes and deeming the idea "so dumb."

Beyond her costume reveal, Bouchard also shared pictures of herself heading out for drinks with a friend dressed as a pirate.

In addition to her media work, Bouchard has also pursued a career in pickleball, competing on the PPA professional tour. She recently engaged in a competitive match that involved a dispute over audible reactions during points, leading to Bouchard refusing to shake hands with her opponent afterward.

Earlier this year, Bouchard reflected on her tennis career, admitting that she misses the feeling of playing competitively, although she acknowledged lacking the motivation required for the WTA tour. She stated her desire to prioritize other aspects of her life.

Since retiring last summer, Bouchard has pivoted to punditry, working at this year's Wimbledon

As well as snippets from her budding pickleball career, Bouchard also regularly shares life updates with her followers (Source, all pictures: Instagram/Eugenie Bouchard)
