Etihad Airways, the principal sponsor of Manchester City Football Club, is contemplating legal action against the Premier League following the league's recent ruling on alleged financial rule breaches by the club. The Abu Dhabi-based airline has issued a statement categorically rejecting any findings that suggest its involvement in improper commercial arrangements.
In its statement, Etihad highlighted that the Premier League did not engage with the airline during its investigation and that Etihad was not given an opportunity to provide information or ensure the accuracy of the data used in the commission's findings. Earlier this week, the Premier League revealed the verdict of an independent panel, which reportedly found that Manchester City had disguised over £830 million in funding between 2009 and 2018.
