The estate of "American Pickers" star Frank Fritz, valued at approximately $6 million, is the subject of a legal battle that will proceed to a jury trial in November. Fritz's father, Bill Fritz, along with three friends of the late television personality, are contesting the distribution of the estate. Mediation efforts have failed to resolve the dispute.

Fritz died in September 2024, two years after suffering a stroke in July 2022 that left him partially paralyzed. In October 2023, he had filed a will prior to his death. An Iowa judge approved this will shortly after Fritz's passing, but his father, Bill Fritz, contested it in February 2025, alleging it was invalid.

According to reports, Bill Fritz claimed that at the time the will was made, Frank Fritz's "decision-making capacity was so impaired that he was unable to make, communicate or carry out important decisions concerning his own financial affairs." Bill Fritz also stated, "The will was totally fake. The people that are doing it were just people that helped him." He expressed confidence in winning the case, asserting he had a good relationship with his son and that others were attempting to improperly benefit from the estate.

Annette Oberlander Willows, identified as a friend of Frank Fritz and present at his side when he died, countered these claims. She stated, "I have always done right by Frank. I was loyal to him throughout our entire friendship. Frank did not wish for his dad to have anything of his!" Willows added, "I did not expect to get anything for just being his closest friend. I feel that it is Frank’s things before it is mine. By going to trial, I am confident Frank’s wishes will be honored!"

In August 2022, a conservatorship and guardianship were established for Frank Fritz. Chris Davis was appointed guardian, and MidWestOne Bank was named conservator. Bill Fritz was not involved in this conservatorship.

The estate's estimated $6 million includes Fritz's motorcycle collection, his Iowa farmhouse valued at $155,000, numerous antiques, and earnings from his television career. Fritz was a co-host of "American Pickers" from 2010 to 2020, departing the show after undergoing back surgery. He was officially terminated from the series in 2021. His former co-star Mike Wolfe continues to host the show, joined by Danielle Colby, Robbie Wolfe, and Jon Szalay.
