ESPN analyst Matt Miller has pleaded not guilty to a charge stemming from a June car crash that resulted in the loss of his left arm. Miller, who was placed on leave by the network in July, faces a misdemeanor charge for failing to drive on the correct side of the road.

Court records indicate that Miller has waived a formal arraignment and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on December 8. The Class A misdemeanor charge carries a potential penalty of up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.

Miller was airlifted to Mercy Hospital with severe injuries following the June 17 collision. He was reportedly driving a 2023 Bronco on Missouri Route 96 when it crossed the center line and struck a semi tractor trailer. The other driver was uninjured.

Doctors performed life-saving surgery, but Miller's left arm had to be amputed. He also underwent femur and patella surgeries on his left leg, which was saved. In July, Miller announced he was stepping away indefinitely from ESPN, stating that while the arm amputation surgery was successful, medics were hopeful for a prosthetic replacement. He added that his left leg surgeries were also successful.

Following the public disclosure of the crash and his injuries, accusations began to surface regarding Miller's involvement in fantasy football leagues. Online allegations, some dating back to his time at Bleacher Report, claim Miller failed to pay out winnings from charity fantasy football leagues and did not provide services paid for by individuals seeking football scouting lessons.

In response to these allegations, the Missouri Attorney General's office launched a consumer-protection probe into Miller in July. A spokesperson for the Attorney General's office stated that they encourage consumers who believe they have been misled to come forward and that the office takes consumer protection seriously.
