ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller is focusing on his recovery after a serious car accident in Missouri last week led to a life-saving amputation of his left arm. Miller was airlifted to Mercy Hospital with multiple fractures and broken ribs following the crash.

On Friday, Miller provided an update on his condition via X, formerly Twitter. "Today’s surgery is a big one. To find out if my shoulder can be reconstructed in order to support a prosthetic arm," he wrote. He expressed gratitude for the ongoing support and prayers.

The Accident

The incident occurred on Missouri Route 96 when Miller, driving a 2023 Bronco, reportedly crossed the center line and collided with a semi tractor-trailer. The other driver, a 28-year-old man, was not injured. Miller sustained significant injuries, including a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap, and extensive blood loss.

Recovery and Support

Miller initially shared details of the crash on Tuesday, expressing his gratitude for the first responders and medical staff. "I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this," he stated. "While I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time."

A GoFundMe page established to support Miller's recovery journey has raised over $43,000. The page notes his positive spirit, stating, "In true Matt fashion, he's already joking that he plans to become 'the best one-armed bartender ever.'"
