Erin Foster Disagrees with Adam Brody's 'Genocide' Accusation Against Israel

Erin Foster, the creator of the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," has publicly stated her disagreement with the show's star, Adam Brody, who accused Israel of "genocide" and expressed support for a "free Palestine."

Foster addressed Brody's remarks on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, describing the situation as "complicated" and comparing the show's set environment to family dinner tables where debates and disagreements occur. "While I love Adam, I also disagree with him and that's OK," Foster said. "I think that as the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel."

Foster emphasized that "Nobody Wants This" was created as a "love letter to Judaism" and intended to provide positive representation for Jewish people, particularly at a time when she feels such representation is lacking. "It's because of how beautiful of an experience I've had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person and sitting here right now at this time in the world where there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people," she stated.

Brody had previously made the accusations against Israel in a September interview with GQ, stating, "Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine." He also expressed hope that a new administration could correct policies exacerbating the situation.

Mor Greenberg, founder of MorMedia Group, a public relations firm working with Jewish and pro-Israel organizations, commented on the situation. She expressed disappointment that a show celebrating Jewish identity was overshadowed by an actor's comments that she found upsetting to the Jewish community. Greenberg noted the pressure in Hollywood to adopt certain political stances and the limited space for defending Israel. "That's why I appreciate Erin Foster's response," Greenberg said. "She understands that Jewish identity is bigger than Hollywood politics, and she isn't afraid to stand behind the Jewish story she created."

Foster acknowledged that individuals are entitled to their own opinions, but reiterated her intention behind creating the show. The full episode of Foster's podcast interview was scheduled to air on October 27. Fox News Digital has reached out to Brody's representatives for comment.
