Erin Andrews Details 'Puke-Worthy' Halftime Report After Stadium Ramp Mishap
The Fox Sports sideline reporter recounted a stressful moment during the Lions-Packers game where a lengthy stadium ramp led to her being out of breath and flustered on air.
Erin Andrews described a moment of panic and physical discomfort during her halftime report for the Lions-Packers game on Sunday, stemming from a logistical challenge at Ford Field.
Speaking on Tuesday's episode of the "Calm Down" podcast with co-host Charissa Thompson, Andrews explained that the unusually long ramp at the stadium led to her having more time than anticipated to interview Packers coach Matt LaFleur. Instead of the typical two questions, she asked four or five.
This extended interaction meant she returned to the broadcast area with only about one minute before Fox was scheduled to go live. In her haste to organize her notes and ensure accuracy, Andrews realized she hadn't gathered injury information.
"So, I run. I literally am standing in front of the camera, and my producer goes, 'Erin, we're gonna come to you first.' Okay great. And then I'm like, 'Oh my God, I don't have the injuries.' I run to find PR, and then Kevin and Tom are on-air; I'm not near the camera," Andrews recounted.
Despite making it back to her position just in time, Andrews admitted she was audibly out of breath during her report. She had relayed that LaFleur expressed frustration with the team's inability to "finish drives" and his decision to go for it on fourth down instead of attempting a field goal. Andrews later questioned herself, realizing she had stumbled over her words.
"I'm fully f--king out of breath, which is inappropriate," she said on the podcast. "Get it together, sister. In through the nose, out through the mouth... It was so stupid and it's all because the ramp was so long."
She recalled co-analyst Tom Brady offering a sympathetic "Aww" on air, acknowledging her struggle.
"And then I'm like, 'Oh my God, how many people are watching, and I just sh--t down my leg. I'm so much better than that," Andrews stated, referencing the intense pressure and her perceived subpar delivery.
Andrews has been a sideline reporter for Fox Sports since 2012, previously working for ESPN covering hockey and college sports. She is known for her extensive experience in NFL reporting.
