Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, posted a tribute on social media Thursday to her late husband, Charlie Kirk, on the one-year anniversary of his murder. The post included a wedding photo of the couple with the message "...until Heaven."
Charlie Kirk, 31, was killed by a sniper during one of his "Prove me wrong" events at Utah Valley University a year ago. The event was held on the Orem campus.
Events are being held across the country to mark the anniversary of the influential Turning Point USA founder's death. Erika Kirk, 37, is not planning a public commemoration.
A family spokesperson stated that Erika Kirk will mark the anniversary privately with their two young children, family, and close friends. The spokesperson added that she is grateful for the continued support, prayers, and love as the family remembers and honors Charlie Kirk as a husband and father.
