Eric Trump, a son of former President Donald Trump, has stated he does not know Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev, who reportedly funded part of his brother Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding celebrations in the Bahamas. A ProPublica report detailed the wedding festivities, where Kremlev, described as having close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, allegedly provided financial support.

A spokesperson for Donald Trump Jr. described Kremlev as a "personal friend of Don" and not someone with whom he has a business relationship. In an Instagram post, Bettina Trump, Donald Trump Jr.'s new wife, referred to Kremlev as a "dear friend" and stated that he "very generously hosted two incredible nights of celebrations for us AFTER our wedding."

She further characterized the contribution as "an extraordinarily generous wedding gift from a friend, and something for which we were and remain incredibly grateful."

Kremlev's press team also indicated a "friendly relationship" with Donald Trump Jr. after they first met some years ago.

However, when reached for comment, Eric Trump's representative told ProPublica that Eric "has absolutely no clue who this person is, nor has never heard his name." A spokesperson for The Trump Organization also told The Daily Beast that Eric "is neither a friend, nor does he know who this person is. He was incredibly honored to attend his brother’s wedding."
