Equinox executive chairman Harvey Spevak and former Fox 5 “Good Day New York” co-anchor Bianca Peters are engaged, Page Six has exclusively learned. The couple has been together for four years.
Peters shared that Spevak organized a surprise proposal in El Paso, Texas, where her extended family and grandmother reside. The event included a mariachi band, a string quartet, and Taco Bell.
The proposal took place at Amalur Kitchen & Bar, with family and friends present, including Ankur Jain and Erika Hammond. The Four Bridges String Quartet performed “Cowboy Take Me Away” by the Chicks, a song significant to Peters and her late grandmother, Irene Castillo.
Peters noted that while she found the trip suspicious due to its lack of a clear occasion, she was still emotional during the proposal. She recalled her grandmother’s advice to Spevak: “No ring, no Bianca.”
Spevak hired local, female-led businesses for the event, including Sunnyside Events, floral designer Muñoz Taller de Diseño, and the all-female mariachi band Mariachi Femenil Flores Mexicanas. He also delivered a speech in Spanish, which Peters found amusing given his non-Spanish speaking background.
The couple's relationship began during the COVID-19 pandemic when Peters and her former colleague Rosanna Scotto interviewed Spevak via satellite. They later connected at a Hamptons party, leading to their romance.
“She’s an incredibly special person and I look forward to building our future together,” Spevak said of Peters. The celebration concluded with late-night Taco Bell, a favorite of Peters.
Peters expressed her hope for a future wedding in Mexico, complete with mariachis and tequila.
