Enzo Maresca has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City, officially taking the helm as the club's new manager. The agreement includes compensation terms settled with his previous club, Chelsea.
Maresca, 44, joins City after a single season in charge of Leicester City, whom he guided to the Championship title and promotion back to the Premier League in the 2023-24 season. His tenure at the King Power Stadium saw the team achieve 97 points and secure the league title.
Before his move to Leicester, Maresca was an assistant coach under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City during the 2022-23 season, when the club won a historic treble of the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League. His coaching career also includes spells at Parma and as head coach of Manchester City's Elite Development Squad.
Maresca's appointment at Manchester City comes after the departure of Pep Guardiola, who has committed to his current contract with the club. Guardiola's success with City includes multiple Premier League titles and domestic cup victories.
